Part of our commitment to emergency preparedness includes routine training exercises by our Children’s Emergency Response Team (CERT), a group of volunteer staff members who have emergency training experience, and can be deployed when an event occurs. They meet and practice disaster response trainings regularly so that appropriate response is second nature to them.

On Saturday, Sept.25 and Oct. 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., members of CERT will conduct a drill on the Laurelon Terrace site.

About 80 people are expected to participate as we practice our plans for search and rescue, medical treatment and triage, patient transport, fire suppression (demonstration only, no actual fire) and other important exercises.
