As the fence goes up and the Laurelon Terrace site preparation begins, we know that questions will arise about timing and next steps for our construction. This fall we plan to thoroughly prepare the site for the first phase of construction. We will continue to update you about these efforts as we move through this work.  We will also continue to work on our Master Use Permit (MUP),  other appropriate permit applications and approvals and completion of the state’s Certificate of Need process. Once all of this work is finished, the first phase of construction will begin.  We expect this to happen early in 2011.

Here is a overview of some of the work that will be taking place this fall to prepare the site:

OCTOBER
  • Hazardous materials abatement begins
  • Submittal to City of Seattle for excavation, shoring, grading permit approval
  • Erosion control measures go into place
NOVEMBER
  • Hazardous material abatement continues
  • Plaza fire lane work
DECEMBER (dependent upon MUP approval)
  • Hazardous materials abatement completes
  • Utility work begins
  • Site clearing begins
  • Building demolition begins late in the month
