Patients, families, staff and the surrounding community were all touched when Ironworkers Local 86 began spray painting names of patients on the steel beams that make up the structure of the Building Hope expansion. Today, we invited people to share a note of thanks on our Facebook page and the response has been wonderful.
One father wrote, “I was in the SCCA wing with my daughter when the news [about putting names on the beams] broke. The excitement on the floor was overwhelming. To see those kids smile made my year and proved how one person, one team, can make a huge difference. A few weeks ago we returned to a tough day of treatments, but her smile returned at the end of the day when we looked at the building and noticed “HI KIRA.”
