Allowing cancer patients to experience the benefits of open space and fresh air

One of many features incorporated into the Building Hope expansion would serve patients who suffer from the devastating side effects of cancer treatment: a 6th floor rooftop terrace. This terrace, which we hope to build through contributions from our donors, would be transformed into a beautiful space – with a green roof and a deck that would be easily accessible from the cancer unit. What does the future of Cancer Care and Critical Care at Children’s look like?

What today looks like big equipment and trucks full of construction materials is in fact the very first steps toward the future of world class cancer and critical care at Seattle Children’s.  Looking at the hospital construction site now, it might be hard to picture what the finished product of the initial phase of Building Hope: Cancer and Critical Care Expansion will look like.
