As the spaces within our Building Hope expansion continue to take shape, we’re preparing to begin planned improvements around the perimeter of the site and across Sand Point Way NE in front of the Hartmann property. You will begin to see work on these improvements in early July.
As crews finish grading the inpatient surface parking lot and helistop, they will begin grading the emergency department parking lot, the new shuttle drop-off and a connector road to Helen Lane. Work will also begin on a retaining wall of large concrete blocks surrounding the helistop. In addition, workers will begin pouring the footings for an elevator leading from the inpatient parking lot to the current Giraffe entrance. At about the same time, work will start on a green roof to the south, above the emergency department. You will also notice the manlift and Fraco lifts being removed. If you’re wondering how the contractor will complete the exterior work, they will be using swing-stages (think window washers).
