We’re giving the Whale 4 and 5 parking lots a good scrubbing this weekend. The two lots will close at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, for pressure washing and remain closed through Sunday, Oct. 14.

Staff members who usually park in the Whale 4 or 5 lots should use lots 3 or 4. Bicyclists who typically use the Whale 5 bike cage should use an alternate bike cage. Extra security staff will provide assistance. Weekend pressure washing will continue at other locations through November. Check this blog for updates.

If the weather remains relatively dry, we’ll also pave Penny Drive this weekend. Demolition and removal of pavement is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Repaving is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Security will direct traffic. Staff who park on the main campus on weekends may experience slight delays entering and exiting parking lots.

A different paving project that we started earlier in the week – Building Hope’s inpatient and emergency department parking lots – will resume on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15-16. You may notice an aroma of asphalt in the air.

A reminder: our contractor, Sellen Construction, will continue to work quietly during the evening inside the Emergency Department for the next several weeks.
