From Wednesday, June 2, to Friday, June 4, Bartlett Tree Experts will remove dead and hazardous trees and prune others throughout Seattle Children’s hospital campus. While most of the work will take place within the campus interior, some will occur on the perimeter in the following locations:

  • The south side of NE 50th Street. The work on 50th is to remove broken and dead branches from two trees.
  • The west side of 44th Avenue NE. The work on 44th is to remove some of the weight off a large crabapple that is leaning.
  • The southwest corner of the NE 47th Street and 45th Avenue NE intersection. The work in this location is to remove a dead birch that is not visible from either street.

The crew will use bucket trucks parked on NE 50th Street and 44th Avenue NE. Access to the corner of NE 47th Street and 45th Avenue NE will be from inside the hospital property. The crew will place signage around the work areas and will direct traffic as needed to maintain two-way traffic on those streets. Sidewalks will be closed while work occurs in those areas.

The crew will arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. each day; work will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. They will use chainsaws and chippers during that time, which will generate noise.

This is proactive maintenance work and is not associated with any construction project at the hospital campus.
