Renovations Begin at 70th and Sand Point Way in early September

Starting Tuesday September 7, renovations will begin on the 70th and Sand Point Way building to prepare the second floor (upper floor) to become the new home to the Autism Clinic and Outpatient Behavioral Health program. Renovations are anticipated to take about a year to complete and the new clinic space is expected to open in late 2022 or early 2023.

For the first six weeks of work, demolition activities will occur inside of the building between 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. weekdays.  At 8:00 a.m., crews will move to working outside of the building until around 12:00 p.m.  After the first 6 weeks, construction is expected to occur weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. until the middle of next year (2022).

The majority of the work will be confined to the interior of the building, with the exception of a playground renovation that will happen later in the project. Neighbors may hear some noise on the exterior of the building from debris removal during demolition and crews will be sure to limit noisy activity until after 8:00 a.m.

Some parking changes will be in place for staff and visitors, please follow all posted signage when visiting the building. Staff are not allowed to park on neighborhood streets and Seattle Children’s security will continue to monitor to ensure staff are complying with our parking policies.
