Stormwater Pipe Repair and Tree Removal, April 21 to April 23

From Tuesday, April 21 to Thursday, April 23, a construction crew will repair a broken stormwater pipe at the north end of the hospital campus, near NE 50th Street. This work will require the removal of some trees. Noise from excavators, chainsaws and wood chippers will be generated between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on those days. Please contact Meghan Fuller, manager of Grounds Maintenance, at 206-307-6687 if you have questions.

Street Parking Near the Hospital Campus

During the COVID-19 response, Seattle Children’s has been working hard to ensure our clinical staff can get to the hospital to care for patients. With cuts to public transit, a significant reduction in our shuttle service, and social distancing requirements — many more staff members are now driving alone. At the end of March, the City of Seattle implemented a temporary suspension of employee parking restrictions near the hospital campus and has authorized employee parking curbside on designated streets adjacent to the hospital, see map for locations. These measures will ensure essential health care workers can focus on delivering care to those that need it most, and not worry about where to park when traveling to the hospital for their shift.

We continue to encourage employees to use our onsite parking lots first before parking on the designated streets. Signs have been installed to mark where hospital employees are allowed to park. When parking permits are issued by our Transportation Department they will be managed in compliance with the City’s requirements.

Neighbors can call Seattle Children’s Security at 206-987-2030 for parking related issues or questions. For other questions, please call 206-987-8000 or email construction@seattlechildrens.org.

Building Care Construction Site Closure Extended

The temporary closure of the Building Care construction site has been extended in accordance with the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” emergency order. Limited staff will be onsite to ensure the job site remains secure during this time.

Please call 206-987-8000 or email construction@seattlechildrens.org with questions.

Building Care Construction Site Closed March 25 to April 7

From March 25 to April 7 the Building Care construction site will be closed for work. The contractor working on the building has decided to temporarily pause construction out of an abundance of caution to keep their workers safe during the COVID-19 response. Limited staff will be onsite to ensure the worksite remains secure during this time. Work is planned to resume onsite on Wednesday, April 8.

Please call 206-987-8000 or email construction@seattlechildrens.org with questions.

Air Handler Work at Hospital, Dec. 11 to Dec. 14

From Dec. 11 to Dec. 14, construction crews will perform work at the hospital associated with the ongoing project to replace the air handling unit. This work will generate noise, but impacts to surrounding neighbors are expected to be minimal. Crews will use a mobile crane on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 to remove existing equipment from the roof and to place new equipment; the crane will be located on the north side of the building near the Mountain loading dock. The crane will be delivered to the site on Friday, Dec. 13 and will be removed on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Note: This work will occur both day and night from Dec. 11 to Dec. 14. Construction lights will be used at night; those lights will be shielded and are not expected to interfere with neighboring properties. Nighttime construction noise will be minimal.

For additional information, please call the Good Neighbor line at 206-987-8000.
